Privacy Policy
Effective 3 November 2026. Applies to the QR Code Generator & Barcode Maker app for Windows published by HAYAH.
The short version
QR Code Generator & Barcode Maker makes QR codes and barcodes on your own PC. It never uploads what you put into a code or the images it makes, and has no account and no advertising. It sends anonymous usage events (which features were used and what happened), which you can turn off in Settings, and a support message only when you choose to send one.
What you type and the codes you make
The text, links, Wi-Fi details and contact details you enter are turned into a code on your PC. They, the images you save and their file names never leave your device. The app writes only the files you ask it to save.
Stored on your PC
Your settings and the random install identifier used for usage events are kept in the app's own storage on your PC. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Network use
Making codes needs no internet connection. The app connects to the internet only for:
- Usage events, described below, sent to qr.hayah.dev unless you turn them off.
- Support messages, described below, sent to qr.hayah.dev only when you press Send in the app's Contact support form.
- Update check: the app asks the Microsoft Store whether an update is ready. This goes only to the Microsoft Store, not to HAYAH.
- Microsoft Store services, to show the Store's own rating dialog. Microsoft's handling of that is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Usage events
The app sends anonymous usage events: which features were used and what happened. For example: that the app was opened (with your processor type and Windows build number) and how long it stayed open, which kind of code was made (for example a Wi-Fi QR code or an EAN-13 barcode) with its style choices, whether a logo was added and a rough size band of the content (for example "under 50 characters", never the content itself), that a code was saved or copied and in which format, that an entry could not be turned into a code and the general reason (for example "phone number not valid", never the entry itself), that something failed and the general reason (an error type name, never a message with your data in it), that the Contact support form was opened or sent, that a setting was changed, or that the rating prompt was shown. Each event carries the app version, the edition, the country as reported by our network provider (Cloudflare) from the connection (your IP address is not stored), a random identifier for that app session and a one-way hash of a random identifier created when the app was installed (the identifier itself is never stored). That identifier is not linked to your Microsoft account.
Events never contain what you put into a code: no text, links, Wi-Fi names or passwords, contact details, file names, folder names or paths, and no images. Our server refuses any event that could carry text. We use the events only to improve the app, keep them for up to 180 days, and do not sell or share them. Events are kept on your PC (a small, bounded amount) until they can be sent, for example when you are offline. You can turn them off at any time in Settings; the app then sends nothing and discards anything not yet sent.
Contact support
The app has a Contact support form (About page). Nothing is sent until you press Send. The message contains the text you write, an email address only if you choose to enter one so we can reply by email, and a few diagnostics: the app version, your processor type (x64 or ARM64), the Windows build number, the edition and a short error code. It never contains the content of your codes, file names, folder names or paths: our server refuses any other field. The message is sent to qr.hayah.dev and delivered to HAYAH's support inbox. It is tied to the same random install identifier as usage events, of which the server stores only a one-way hash, so we can show you our reply inside the app. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you describe, keep it for up to 12 months, and do not sell or share it. Contact support works even when usage data is turned off. You can also write to us directly at support@hayah.dev.
Diagnostics
Apart from the usage events and the support messages you choose to send, the app sends no diagnostics of its own. Windows may send crash reports to Microsoft according to your Windows diagnostic settings, and Microsoft may share aggregated reports with HAYAH through Partner Center. These contain nothing you put into a code.
Children
The app does not ask anyone, including children, for personal information. The usage events above are anonymous and are the same for every user.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Questions: support@hayah.dev.
